PDF up to 50 MB and 200 pages · Free for statements up to 5 pagesWhat is in the QuickBooks CSV file
- Exactly three columns with the headers Date, Description and Amount, the 3-column layout in Intuit’s help.
- Dates written dd/mm/yyyy, the format Intuit recommends. QuickBooks also asks you to confirm the date format when you upload.
- One signed Amount per row: money out is negative and money in is positive, as in Intuit’s example (-100.00 for a payment, 200.00 for a deposit).
- One line per transaction, with description text on a single line.
Example (synthetic data)
Date,Description,Amount 02/10/2026,CLIENT PAYMENT ACH,2450.00 05/10/2026,OFFICE SUPPLIES,-84.20 11/10/2026,SOFTWARE SUBSCRIPTION,-49.00
When you get this file
- The statement is a bank account statement, not a credit card statement.
- Every transaction has a readable date and a non-zero amount.
- It has no more than 1,000 transactions and the file is no larger than 350 KB, the upload limits Intuit documents.
When it is not offered
- Credit card statements: Intuit notes that card files can use a different sign convention, and we have not verified our mapping against it, so no QuickBooks file is made.
- Statements with a row that has no date or no amount, or an amount of zero: Intuit asks for zeros to be left blank, which would leave the row unusable, so no file is made instead of a wrong one.
- Statements over the limits above: use the Excel or CSV download and split it by date range, as Intuit suggests for large uploads.
How to use it
- Convert your statement and check the free preview.
- Unlock the download and choose QuickBooks CSV if it is offered for your statement.
- In QuickBooks Online, follow Intuit’s “Manually upload transactions” help to upload the file, map the columns and choose the date format.
- Before you confirm, check in the QuickBooks preview that money out is negative and that the dates read the way you expect.

No. One payment or free claim unlocks every format that exists for your conversion: Excel, CSV and any of the formats below that could be built for your statement. You can see which are available on the download screen.
The file is only made when it can be written exactly. Credit card statements, rows without a date or amount, zero amounts, and statements over 1,000 transactions or 350 KB are left out. You still get the Excel and CSV files.
